Salle MacBean is lead by Coach Bean. Its formats were developed by him with direct input from Instructors who have coached to the International Level, and implemented during a period of ten years of teaching in the Inland Empire. He is certified through the United States Fencing Association's Coaches College program. This intensive study program is hosted at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado and features grueling workouts and 12-hour days taught by some of the best Maestro level instructors in America.

Students coached in the Center’s Formats have qualified and fenced to the International Level. Several other members have fenced to a National level, and many have earned ratings with-in the USFA's competitive frame work. The focus of the Center is to provide the best possible instruction in the sport, and ensure people's enjoyment at the same time. Using this approach, it continues to build competitive and recreational fencers of all levels, and is actively building an assistant coaching staff. The Main Location is a stand alone facility, rented for the purpose of presenting classes. This enables us to offer more directly focused courses and develop the students skills more completely than the average community sponsored program. We have found this has built a strong commitment from our fencers to do their best. Lessons are a group class format working from weekly lesson plans. Intermediate level students have access to our private on-line group to stay in better touch with each other, and discuss issues on the private message board.
